What Is A Dry Dock Cruise?

"Dry Dock Cruising" is an interactive party idea fashioned by Ray's Dad and Mom about 25 years ago.  Guests experience various countries around the globe through enjoyment of cocktails, ethnic foods, fun stories and songs - all while lounging on an imaginary cruise ship!  To enhance the trip even more, guests are invited (downright required!) to play along by dressing-up in their best cruise-wear (no bathing suits, please!) while using their best imagination to whisk themselves away on a good-spirited adventure!

Cruising - "Cook Family Style" - Memories of Trips Past

Creating a Dry Dock Cruise involves many details; the first knowing which countries to visit.  Ray's Dad (Captain Ron) would select an area of the world and build the whole event around it.
Ray remembers helping his Dad create different cocktails for specific countries and running heaping platters of food from his mother's kitchen to the tables lined up in the basement.  Everything - foods, beverages, and decorations were thoughtfully selected to compliment each stop on their "trip itinerary".  The greatest highlights Ray remembers, though, were the embellished, truth-stretched stories concocted by his father and all the fun, catchy melodies he had everyone singing.  Every glass and fork in the house was used and his Mom and Dad's basement was packed with guests.  People talked about the Cook Family Dry Dock Cruise parties for weeks!

Special Guests

With great excitement, the U.S.S. Cuoco will be christened and navigated by the original scally-wags themselves - Captain Ron and Ship Chef Patti Cook!  They are flying into Minnesota to be the honorary guests (and crew) on our maiden voyage - we are so excited!  It's sure to be a trip for all of us to remember!

Ship's Registry

Our event will take place in 912Regency Plaza and activities will be hosted on multiple levels - just like a real cruise ship!  The Mezzanine Level welcomes you for relaxed cocktails and mingling and, soon after, we'll move the cruise upstairs to the Grand Ballroom and sail on our fantastic Mediterranean adventure!

Book your tickets early!  The trip is contingent on a minimum of 50 guests and we have capped the ship's occupancy at 100.  * Tickets will not be charged until minimum guest count is reached.  Groups welcome.

Coat check will be available at the front door, as will complimentary valet parking.

Gratuities not included.
